Report by Outcomes and get many people involved: an introduction to the Participatory Performance Story Reporting technique: Jessica Dart

One of the trickiest evaluation questions to answer, yet one of the most frequently asked, concerns the contribution of a program's activities to final outcomes. It is challenging because outcomes are often long-term in nature and influenced by many things in addition to a particular program. The ‘Participatory Performance Story Reporting' (PPSR) technique has been developed by Jess Dart from Clear Horizon - to address this need. PPSR uses program logic as a structure to compile evidence into a ‘story' of how program activities plausibly contribute to program outcomes.

This technique represents a breakthrough in terms of finding an easy and effective way to meaningfully report on long-term outcomes. It is applicable to most sectors, and has been implemented in overseas development, health, food/agriculture and natural resource management programs.

The purpose of this workshop is to explain what the PPSR technique is, and to walk participants through the process steps. The workshop will be highly interactive, and case study will be used throughout the day to explore each of the process steps.

This workshop is aimed at… participants at intermediate to advanced level.
