Essential of survey design and administration: Zita Unger

This professional development workshop is designed for participants responsible for feedback and surveys in evaluation, research and corporate environments or those who wish to consolidate or extend their experience with surveys. Participants will be introduced to the fundamentals of survey design and administration, with attention to new technology.

The workshop focuses on practical elements of survey construction that maximise impact. We explore different types of surveys, selecting the right survey, administering the survey and pilot testing, ways to increase response rates, apply best practice and improve data quality. Participants will learn the tools and techniques for each step in the survey process.

This interactive workshop will provide hands-on opportunities to apply what is learned to the workplace and to projects, with plenty of group discussion, individual exercises and design plans.

Workshop Objectives

Participants will learn:

•  the different types and formats of surveys;
•  survey design methodology;
•  techniques for online surveys to enhance respondent experience;
•  best practice for increasing reliability and validity; and
•  survey etiquette and ethics.
