Proposal Submission

Call For Papers have now closed and are curently being reviewed. It is anticipated that Authors to be notified of the acceptance of their proposal by 15 June.

Presentation Options

The Organising Committee wishes to encourage the discussion of issues within sessions and so you should choose the presentation option most appropriate to your particular contribution. Some presentations may need to be made in a format different from that originally proposed due to scheduling requirements. Where this is necessary, proposers will be advised at the time of acceptance of their proposal.

There are no refereed papers, but presenters are encouraged to submit a copy of their paper or presentation to Evaluation Journal of Australasia for consideration for publication.

Paper
The paper format will have about 20 minutes being for presentation of the major ideas, arguments, evidence and conclusions of the paper, followed by up to 10 minutes for discussion.

Symposium
A symposium allows for multiple presentations on a particular theme or issue, and is to be organised by the proposer. Each symposium is to include no more than four presentations and must allow at least 20 minutes for discussion within the session. Sessions will be of either 65 minutes or 100 minutes duration. Within this framework the organiser can arrange the symposium in the format is most suitable for the topic. Possibilities include: Symposium Format, Debate Format and Panel Format.

Roundtable
Each roundtable presentation will enable up to 10 participants to discuss the proposed topic over a 30 minute period. The proposer is to give an introduction of about 10 minutes and provide a handout that will enable participants to engage quickly with the major themes or issues to be focussed upon. This format will allow key evaluation issues to be explored.

Poster
Posters involve a short, visual presentation of the major focus, issues of concern, methods, findings and conclusions of the presentation. They allow all conference participants to be reached and are particularly well suited to informal and in-depth interaction about the topic. Posters will be displayed in a specific venue where conference participants can examine the poster any time and discuss it with the presenter at a particular allocated time.

Mini Workshop
A Mini Workshop is essentially a teaching/learning session dedicated to the attainment of specific objectives which have particular relevance to evaluation. Each session will occupy a 65 minute block in the program and so must have a limited and well defined focus.

A Mini Workshop might, for example, focus on developing competence in a particular skill or technique and its application, or enhancing knowledge of a specific aspect of evaluation.

Pre-conference Workshop Proposals

A series of high quality workshops is planned for the Monday and Tuesday preceding the main period of the Conference. These will comprise a mixture of half-day and full-day workshops, to be held at the conference venue.

Workshop proposals are to focus on developing particular evaluation knowledge, techniques and practices. They must include the specific objectives, prerequisites, teaching/learning strategies and resources to be provided to participants. Please specify if the workshop is designed for those new to evaluation or for more advanced practitioners.

Workshops facilitated by teams of two or more workshop leaders are encouraged. Conference organisers will also consider repeating successful workshops from previous conferences should proposers wish to do so.
